I think about this quite a bit, to be honest, and in many ways it’s worthy of its own post. I think many, many critiques of victimhood come in some way from a belief that YOU are the one truly suffering and others aren’t suffering correctly. That potentially makes it sound crueler than it is, but it’s a real human impulse.
